  • Maude read us a comic short story about taking extreme measures to protect goldfish.
  • Maude Martin is the pen-name for Tracy Burge who is one of the founders of Wylye Valley Writers.
  • Maude has performed at Stories at the Chapel, Stories on the Farm and also at Priston Festival.
  • She has also featured on BBC Upload, much to the delight of her Welsh family, who all tuned in.

William Graham

  • William read us an extract from his science fiction novel Fun & Games, the first part of his Alpha System trilogy.  The story concerned a two crew members visiting part of a space ship to view the glory of the stars from deep space.

Estelle Phillips

  • Estelle read and performed for us her poem Reaper, about her reaction to a man in the Ukrainian army.
  • Estelle has published a book of poems, Motherhoodlum, and has performed her pieces on BBC Radio, amongst many other places.
  • A slam winner, Estelle’s performances include Southbank, Royal Albert Hall, BBC Radio, theatres, galleries, museums and festivals.  Her poetry is also anthologized, and published in newspapers and magazines.

Carol Cole

  • Carol read us a comic short story about mothers, daughters and supermarket shopping.
  • She has had short plays performed on BBC radio and at Salisbury Fringe Festival, has won short story competitions and had stories published both in the UK and overseas.

  • She has completed two crime novels, Dark Horse and Hidden Depths and is currently writing her third, A Shot at Justice, a murder story set in the New Forest.
